Now that you’ve got your blog set up with a beautiful theme, what the heck do you write about?

This part is not as hard as you think. You don’t need to be an experienced author to get out your first piece of content.

What’s more, if you followed my steps in lesson 2: How to choose a KILLER money making Blogging niche, then you would have already got ideas for your first few blog posts.

Make use of your blogging niche brainstorming session to get your first post out there.

To write your first post:

  • In your WordPress dashboard, click on “posts,” and then add new.
  • Enter the title for your post and click “save draft”
  • Then in the big white box at the bottom, type in your first message. This will be the intro to the post where you’ll explain who you are and what the post will be about.
  • Once you‘re done click “Publish,” and you’re done!

Remember it doesn’t need to be perfect. Each post your write it getting you one step closer to becoming a more experienced blogger.

Top Tips:

  • Look at your favourite blogs and see what they’re writing about. You can get inspiration from them and put your own twist it.
  • Use tools like Buzzsumo (as mentioned in lesson 2) to see what kinds of posts get the most attention
  • Research keywords on Pinterest, Answer the Public and Google trends to get amazing blog topic ideas

Your tools for success..

There are several tools that you need in order to have a successful blog. I have used these since the very beginning of my blogging journey and haven’t looked back.

Many of these tools are free and super easy to use.

Google Analytics

This is a popular and free analytics tool that can be integrated into your WordPress blog and can provide you with tons of different reports, depending on what you are measuring.

Depending on your blog topics, visuals can be really important. I use Canva to create Pinterest pins, resize photos and various other graphics on my blog. So powerful, trust me on this one!

Depending on the style of your blog, you may want to invest in a grammar tool like Grammarly. Grammarly will proofread you blog posts checking spelling and grammar. Although not necessary it can save you time and money in the long run.

Email Marketing

Capturing emails as a newbie blogger is sooooo important. When you have an email signup, you give people the option of subscribing to your blog so they know every time a new post comes up. More eyes on your content!

I use Mailerlite, it’s FREE and easy to use.

Rank Math SEO

Good SEO will help your website rank higher in search engines, which means more people will organically find your content. I use a plugin called Rank Math SEO on my site. It’s free and will give you the best tips on how to give your site the best shot at ranking with SEO.

Headline Analyzer

Picking a solid title for your blog can be tricky. Using a website like Coschedule can help loads, because it’ll tell you if your blog title is likely to drive traffic or even show up in search results.

If you’d like an in depth run down of these tools are the power they have, check out my dedicated blog post right here..

Now that you know what you need, it’s time for you to get started, if you haven’t already!
